HDMI Splitter: Splits 1 HDMI input signal onto 4 HDMI output displays, e.g. 1 DVD Player outputs to 4 monitors displaying one video.

HDMI Switch: Allows connection of multiple HDMI sources to one HDMI port, and freely allows switching among these sources.

Direct TV requires a higher HDCP version (HDCP 2.2)

HDCP | High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection

A form of digital copy protection to prevent copying of digital audio and video content as it travels across connections. Different sources require different versions of HDCP depending on the maximum output resolution. Most of the latest media devices (TV box, game consoles, DVD player) ask for the highest HDCP (2.2) in order to protect the 4K@60Hz UHD content.

If your signal transmission is not stable you will have a disconnection on a regular basis. 

• Replace any cables with a higher performance HDMI cable
• 28 AWG | recommended for lengths approximately 15 FT 
• 26 AWG | recommended for lengths 15-29 FT
• 24 AWG | recommended for lengths 30-49 FT
  
• 22 AWG | recommended for lengths 50-65 FT
